Born on 1962-06-07 in Baltimore, Maryland, Reddick was the son of Dorothy Gee and Solomon Reddick. He attended Friends School of Baltimore and studied music at the Peabody Preparatory Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music and later obtained a Master of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama in 1994. Reddick was married to Stephanie Day, and they had two children.
