Cristóbal “Cristo” Fernández started his acting career with roles in short films, including Bizet (2016) and Fuera De Serie (2017). His breakthrough came when he was cast as Dani Rojas in Ted Lasso, a role that brought him international recognition. Personal Life

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on 1991-01-27, Cristo Fernández initially pursued a career in football and played professionally for Club Deportivo Estudiantes Tecos. However, a knee injury ended his football aspirations, leading him to explore acting. He studied at the University of Guadalajara before earning a master’s degree at the Guildford School of Acting in England. His multicultural experience and fluency in multiple languages have helped him land diverse roles in film and television.

Trivia

Aside from acting, Cristo Fernández  is also a filmmaker and founded his own production company, Espectro MX Films. He has appeared in several commercials, including a notable 2024 State Farm ad with Patrick Mahomes. In addition, he has lent his voice to Wheeljack in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023). His passion for storytelling extends beyond acting, as he has written and directed several independent projects.

Awards

Cristo Fernández’s role in Ted Lasso helped the ensemble cast win the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
