Lee Byung-hun was born on 12 July 1970 in Seoul, South Korea. He studied French Literature at Hanyang University before attempting to act. He went on to study at Chung-Ang University for Theater and Film. He married actress Lee Min-jung in 2013, and they share a son.

Lee is South Korea’s best-known actor in the global world. He has also starred in American films such as G.I. Joe (2009, 2013) and The Magnificent Seven (2016). He is also known for his work in Inside Men (2015) and Squid Game (2021).
