Born on 1942-07-13 in Chicago, Illinois, Ford is the son of Dorothy, a former radio actress, and John William “Christopher” Ford, an advertising executive and former actor. He has been married three times: to Mary Marquardt (1964–1979), Melissa Mathison (1983–2004), and Calista Flockhart (2010–present). He has five children.
